Operations

Three facilities. One trusted partnership. Contract manufacturing expertise across Australia and New Zealand, supplying partners around the world.

Scope & Capabilities

Purpose Foods operates a connected manufacturing network spanning three facilities: Artisan Food Co in Brisbane, GreenMount Foods in Mount Maunganui and Richmond Foods in Rotorua. Together they give partners access to broad production capability through a single relationship, with the consistency, accountability and standards of an established group behind every run.

Whether you’re a brand owner seeking a long-term manufacturing partner, a retailer developing private label, or a manufacturer that needs reliable bulk components, our team will find the right fit across our network.

How We Partner

An Extension of Your Team

We approach every engagement as a partnership, not a transaction. Our proven five-step approach keeps you clear, aligned and confident at every stage:

Team collaborating around a meeting table
1

Engage.

We learn your goals, product needs and market requirements so we can guide the right direction from the very beginning.
2

Collaborate.

Our culinary and technical teams work with you to shape recipes, formulations and formats that deliver on flavour and performance.
3

Solve.

We troubleshoot challenges, refine specifications and ensure every element meets regulatory, operational and commercial expectations.
4

Activate.

Your product moves into production with strict controls, validated processes and the support of our facilities.
5

Support.

We provide ongoing partnership, from refinement and scaling to new product lines and future development opportunities.

Contract Manufacturing Expertise

We manufacture to your recipe or develop one with you from scratch. Across our network, capabilities span forming and filling, blending and batching, pastry lines, hot fill and chilled processes, retort pouch production, and both single serve and bulk packaging formats on automated retail and foodservice lines.

Behind every line is a team of chefs, food scientists, technologists and operations specialists who understand how to turn an idea into a reliable, commercial product.

Custom Development & Innovation

Our development teams combine food science with genuine culinary expertise. Bring us a brief, a benchmark or a half-formed idea, and we’ll work alongside you through formulation, sampling, refinement and scale-up until the product in production matches the product in your head.

For manufacturers, we also develop and supply functional components: bulk stocks, glaces, reductions, concentrates and flavour bases matched to your formulation or developed to your specification.

Manufacturing Standards You Can Audit

Food safety and quality aren’t differentiators in our industry. They’re the entry ticket. Our facilities operate under internationally recognised systems including SQF certification, HACCP and GMP accreditation, and Halal accreditation, with FDA registration and USDA listing supporting export to the United States.

Every product is fully traceable from raw material to finished goods, and we welcome partner audits. The best relationships are built on open books and open doors.

Scalable Production, Global Reach

With facilities across Australia and New Zealand and established export channels into Asia, the United States and the Middle East, we offer genuine production flexibility: the ability to scale volumes as your business grows, manufacture closer to your market, and build supply resilience into your programme from day one.

FAQs

Contract manufacturing means we produce your product to your recipe or one we develop together. Co-packing means we take your product or formulation and handle production and packaging. Private label means we develop and produce products sold under your brand, typically for retailers. Purpose Foods offers all three across our network.
Yes. Bring us a benchmark product or an existing formulation and our food technologists and development chefs will match it, or improve on it, then manage scale-up so the production version performs exactly as intended.
Retort is heat treatment that makes pouched products shelf-stable without preservatives. It suits prepared meals, stocks, sauces and soups where you want ambient storage, long shelf life and clean labels. Our Brisbane facility runs retort pouch capability.
Breadth and resilience. Three facilities means a wider range of processes and formats under one relationship, the ability to place your product in the facility best suited to it, and supply continuity that a single site can’t offer. You get group-level accountability with specialist-level capability.
Yes. For food manufacturers we supply bulk stocks, glaces, reductions, concentrates and functional flavour bases, in frozen and chilled formats, either from our range or matched to your formulation. Many partners use us for both components and finished products.
HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) is the internationally recognised system for identifying and controlling food safety risks at every step of production. Accreditation means risk management is embedded in our processes, not bolted on, giving your product a documented safety backbone from raw material to dispatch.
Our network holds FDA registration for export to the United States, USDA listing for meat products, Inter State Shellfish Shippers listing for shellfish, and Halal accreditation. Combined with full traceability, this supports compliant supply into Asia, the US and the Middle East.
Across the network: retort pouches, single serve formats, bulk packs, and automated retail and foodservice packaging lines, in frozen, chilled and shelf-stable formats. We’ll advise the best format for your product, channel and logistics.
We follow a five-step approach: Engage, Collaborate, Solve, Activate, Support. Timelines vary with product complexity, regulatory requirements and packaging, so we scope this honestly at the Engage stage rather than promising a one-size-fits-all schedule.
Whatever you have. A finished brief, a benchmark product, target volumes and channels, or just a half-formed idea. The more context you bring on volumes, formats and timing, the faster we can tell you what’s feasible and what it might cost.
